Gators start the season rolling over the Owls 66-21

Great start to the season for the Florida Gators. I expected they could beat the Florida Atlantic Owls but not like this... I think we have good QB this year too - Aaron Philo who transferred from Georgia Tech last spring.

GATOR QB AARON PHILO

Football Season Finally! Gators play Owls Saturday night in the Swamp!

Florida Football Season begins Sept 5th!

Aaron Philo QB during Orange & Blue game this spring

Coach Jon Sumrall named Aaron Philo as the starting quarterback this week. Aaron is a red-shirt freshman  who transferred from Georgia Tech.   He was back up quarterback for the last two seasons at Georgia Tech.  So for week one , at least,  Aaron will get the starting position .  Note: Aaron Philo broke Trevor Lawrence's  high school passing record in Georgia.. so sounds like a good choice to me.

BREAKING NEWS: Florida hires Jon Sumrall to be next head coach | CBS Sports

Gators play Tennessee in the swamp tonight 7:30 pm on ABC

For the Gators, the motivation is obvious. Spoil a rival's season. Protect home turf. Prove that, despite a frustrating year, the Swamp remains one of the toughest environments in the SEC. Read more at this link to usatoday

My thoughts, D J LAGWAY is doing great under the circumstances..the Gators have a good chance to win in the Swamp today , the only negative would be lack of a coach for now...

OH, MY!!! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GATORS ?!!!

Oh my, what happened???  Gators played terribly on last Saturday in Miami, Florida.

Final score:  Miami 26 Florida 7

First thought:  Miami has one of the best QB's in the ACC and SEC - Carson Beck, who had completed two years as the starting QB for the Georgia Bulldogs in his 5th year of college, decided to forgo the NFL draft.  He returned to college football for one more  year after healing from an injury suffered in the last game of the season at Georgia.   Miami was more than happy to offer him the QB role  and now Miami is a  "team to beat" in the ACC .

Florida needs to get it together by next Saturday , Oct 4th, when they play the Texas Longhorns, with QB Arch Manning (another top QB in college football!)
