Coach Mac replaces Muschamp as the new head ball coach

Muschamp is out as head ball coach and Florida has hired his replacement, Jim McElwain (known as Coach Mac).   After spending 2008-2011 as offensive coordinator at Alabama, he spent the last three seasons as head coach at Colorado State (2012-2014).   Click to read more at OnlyGators.Com

This is the week all Gators look forward to - the Florida-Georgia game this Saturday in Jacksonville, Florida.  This week was a big deal when we lived in Jacksonville, but up here in Georgia the hype does not seem to be as big.   Some think this will be a do or die game for Coach Muschamp, but we will see how that turns out.  It will definitely be a big week for the freshman quarterback who takes over as the starter this week, Treon Harris.  Check out this article to get Tim Tebow's perspective...TEBOW ON HARRIS  and Preview of game at ESPN.com -

Gators Come from behind win over the Vols

Big win for the Gators this week over Tennessee Vols - final score 10-9 . After three quarters, the Gators were behind 0-9.  Coach replaced senior quarterback Jeff Driskel with freshman quarterback Treon Harris (#3) to come from behind and score a touchdown first and then a field goal to pull off the win!  Let the quarterback controversy begin....  I think we have a winner...

Gators over Eastern Michigan, 65-0 on Sept 6th

Jeff Driskel returns this year to play quarterback 
after a season ending injury last Fall.  
He threw for 248 yards in the first game of the season 
as the Gators faced Eastern Michigan at home. 
The Gators finished with a total of 655 yards 
and the highest score for one game since 2008.

Florida Opening Game cancelled for now

Fans were disappointed across Gator Nation, but as you can see in this photo, the weather won this game.  No word yet if this game will be rescheduled or not.   So looks like  next Saturday will be the opening game of the season.

Looking forward to the upcoming football season and especially to watching  the new SEC TV network.  ESPN SEC network will be available in many areas over AT&T U-Verse, DISH Network, Google, Cox, Time-Warner, Xfinity, and other local carriers as well.  It should be a good year for watching college football!

Gator Basketball Walk on - To Dream the Possible Dream - Zach Hodskins

He is here!  Walk-on player for the Florida Gators basketball team has a unique physical handicap, but the internet has been buzzing about his journey of life...and being invited by Coach Billy Donovan to be a walk-on player this coming year for the Gators.   Zach Hodskins sums it all up at the end of this article posted on line at gatorzone.com:   
"Just the other night, Zach called home and told his parents he hadn’t stopped smiling since setting foot on the Florida campus. He loves the school, loves the coaches, loves his teammates and can’t wait to get to the gym every day.

Gators on top as SEC tourney begins

The Gators finished the SEC season undefeated in conference play, 18-0.
At the top of the AP and USA Today polls, the Gators enter the SEC tournament this week at no. 1 in the nation!  Go Gators!
